In 2014, Germany’s Federal Court of Justice affirmed in the Short Messages case that in patent infringement disputes, courts should suspend the enforcement of a first instance judgment if, in light of the patent later being invalidated, an appeal against the decision to invalidate is pending. The ordinance of February 10, 2016 on the reform of contract law took effect on October 1 and applies to contracts concluded after September 30, 2016. In June 2014, Bildkonst Upphovsrätt i Sverige (BUS), a Swedish association that represents artists in copyright matters, filed a lawsuit against Wikimedia Sweden, based on offentligkonst.se, a webpage and database with pictures of works of art placed in public places. The database is available to the public free of charge and it is also the public that provides the database with the pictures by uploading photographs there.   3 October 2016
