Inventa expands Africa presence with new office in DR Congo

Maître Méridor Kongota Ndelo, who has experience in IP and corporate law, will manage the company’s office in Gombe, Kinshasa.

Inventa has opened a new office in the Democratic Republic of Congo (DR Congo).

The office, located in Gombe, Kinshasa, will be managed by Maître Méridor Kongota Ndelo, a lawyer and IP agent, with experience in IP and corporate law.

Kongota Ndelo is the founder of Meridor Law Firm and will continue to hold that position while also taking on his new role with the IP services firm.

This expansion marks a “significant milestone” in the company’s growth strategy and shows a commitment to providing high-level IP services across Africa, according to Inventa.

The new office will enable Inventa to deliver high-quality IP services, focused on protecting IP assets in the country and collaborating with local authorities to combat counterfeit products and enforce IP property rights.

Kongota Ndelo said: “It’s a great honour to join efforts with Inventa, contributing with my knowledge and local experience. I'm sure we gather all the conditions and means to take DR Congo IP practice to a higher level.

“This new step is part of Inventa’s strategy to continue providing the best IP services in Africa, gathering the best lawyers and practitioners for our regional practice.”

Daniel Reis Nobre, managing partner of Inventa, said: “We are excited to bring our expertise and services to this dynamic market. Opening an office in DR Congo is a major step forward for Inventa.

“It underscores our commitment to the region and our belief in its full potential. Our goal is to provide leading IP services in Africa and, for that reason, we will continue looking for the best practitioners that share the same values and vision of Inventa.”
