Lathrop GPM - US Trademark Rankings 2023
Firm Overview:
Managing more than 17,000 active trademarks, midwest firm Lathrop GPM has an IP group strong in prosecution. The IP group manages trademark portfolios, largely for international clients, advising a Fortune 50 finance company, a globally-known jeweller and a range of other clients on brand strategy. Through enforcement and strategic monitoring online and offline, the full-service firm aims to detect and prevent infringement early but when matters become contentious, will settle or litigate to suit its clients’ needs. Lathrop is currently handling 16 active trademark litigation matters and previously has represented a well-known shoe manufacturer, a biotechnology client and a regional dairy company in respective trademark lawsuits.
Team Overview:
Lathrop GPM has 350 attorneys and the IP group is home to 75 practitioners. The team is located across California, Colorado, Illinois, Kansas, Massachusetts, Minnesota and Missouri.
Key Matter:
- Lathrop GPM’s Amy Brozenic represents Missouri-based transportation company New Prime before the Trademark Trial and Appeal Board (TTAB) in a cancellation matter brought against defendant Prime Group Logistics. To protect its registered trademark ‘Prime Inc’ and related marks, the client has argued cancellation on the bases of priority of use, likelihood of consumer confusion and false suggestion of a connection under the Trademark Act. The matter is ongoing.
Clients:
Batteries Plus, Brixon Manufacturing, Curated, New Prime, Rare, Unlikely Collaborators.
