EPO’s G1 /21 videoconf hearing ends on a cliffhanger

1 June 2021 The much-anticipated review into the legality of making oral proceedings by video conference at the European Patent Office compulsory has been postponed.
2 August 2021 The keenly-anticipated decision is not the resounding endorsement of remote hearings that the EPO may have wished for, reports Andrew McKinlay of Appleyard Lees.
19 July 2021 The European Patent Office can continue to hold oral proceedings over videoconference without the consent of all parties, an appeals board has ruled.
