Chang Tsi’s patent team is led by Michael Wu, on litigation and David Liu on prosecution. The firm has 13 partners and over 100 other lawyers with significant activity on patent matters.
Most of the firm’s patent professionals have science or engineering and law academic backgrounds. Over one third are practicing lawyers and patent attorneys, and one fourth have been educated in other countries and are holders of patent agency qualifications in the United States and other countries. Chang Tsi’s patent attorneys are qualified in the patent laws of China, the United States, Japan, and European countries, and are proficient in English, Japanese and German.
The patent team lawyers with many years of litigation experience, including former senior judges and patent examiners with experience in IP courts, and some who have worked in the Patent Reexamination Board under the China National Intellectual Property Administration.

- Chang Tsi & Partners lawyers David Liu, partner Michael Wu and patent attorney Lily Bao advised ITW, an established client in recent years, on patent matters. ITW is a US Fortune 200 company, based in Illinois, that makes fasteners and components.
- The Chang Tsi team studied ITWs products and technologies, designing a specific patent protection strategy. Chang Tsi also worked with IFW to reduce legal risks on IP matters.
- Chang Tsi & Partners lawyers David Liu, counsel and patent attorney Pheobe Xi and Nancy Lv assisted UK manufacturer Morgan Advanced Materials with the prosecution of patents including the use of ceramic fibres.
