Trademark prosecution has always been a core focus area of the firm’s IP practice. The group advises clients on applying, registering and maintaining their trademarks, and on the appropriate action for problematic trademarks. Zhong Lun also represents clients in negotiations over general trademark affairs and provides advice on their global trademark ambitions.

On trademarks disputes, Zhong Lun has represented clients in high-profile IP cases in China and abroad. On the international front, the firm has taken on projects under the Belt and Road Initiative and advised multinational companies on strategic IP protection plans. Many of the  firm’s cases were selected for annual lists "Top 10 IP Cases in Chinese Courts" and "50 Typical Representative Cases".

Zhong Lun’s group comprises lawyers and trademark agents graduated from prestigious Chinese and foreign law schools who provide a full-range of legal services to the firm’s clients. The firm has set out to recruit a number of interdisciplinary expert practitioners to the team. The move of the experienced Tracy Liu to Beijing East IP will be seen as a loss to the firm.
