Georgina Hart has extensive experience in contentious matters spanning all of the core IP rights, with a particular focus on copyright and patent work. She advises clients across a variety of sectors, including music, film and entertainment. Hart helps protect and enforce IP rights in both the online and offline world, having achieved favourable outcomes for many clients through a mixture of litigation and carefully negotiated settlement strategies.Having qualified as a solicitor of England and Wales in 2015, Hart joined the Intellectual Property team at Wiggin in May 2019, having previously worked and trained at Bird & Bird. She completed the post-graduate diploma in IP law & practice at Oxford University in June 2017.Hart is an active member of her firm’s LGBTQ+ network, Pride of Wiggin, which has worked to develop policies and organise events to promote diversity and inclusion in the workplace. She is also secretary of IPOut, a community for LGBTQ+ people and their allies working in the IP professions.Hart grew up in Spain and speaks near fluent Spanish. These early experiences have instilled in her a love for international travel and immersion in other cultures and languages. She was able to use her Spanish skills during the third seat of her training contract when she was posted on secondment to Bird & Bird’s Madrid office where she was based in the IP department.
