Rebecca Horton

Rebecca Horton is litigation counsel at Hogan Lovells, a position she has held since 2021. Prior to this role, she worked as IP litigation senior associate at Polsinelli, IP litigation associate at BraunHagey & Borden, and deputy county counsel for San Mateo County.Horton’s notable legal work includes serving as trial counsel for a rideshare company in a trademark infringement and unfair competition dispute, resulting in a stipulated dismissal with prejudice. She also represented an electronic design automation company in a trade secret misappropriation and copyright dispute, securing summary judgment and Daubert victories. Additionally, she acted as trial counsel for a financial services company in a trademark infringement and cybersquatting dispute, achieving a favourable settlement and domain transfer.Horton’s involvement in professional organisations includes serving as a member of the International Trademark Association’s Emerging Issues Committee and participating in ChIPs events, including leading a team of women attorneys to present a pitch and attending the NextGen Summit.Horton regularly contributes to legal publications, recently coordinating and authoring part of a five-article initiative addressing AI and IP considerations specific to the consumer retail sector. Her speaking engagements include moderating a panel on IP environmental issues and discussing how her experience as a female athlete has shaped her legal practice.She dedicates time to diversity and inclusion initiatives through formal programmes, mentorship of women and minorities in the legal profession, and pro bono work representing minorities in constitutional rights cases.
