The firm’s German trademarks practice is led from Frankfurt by co-head of Intellectual Property and Technology in Germany, Dr Constantin Rehaag, who was appointed co-head of the IP&T practice across Europe. Rehaag handles complex and high-profile trademarks, unfair competition, copyright, trade secret and patent litigation. His advice is sought by clients and regulatory bodies on developments in law in his areas of interest. Rehaag is also recommended by clients: “For anticounterfeiting we have been successfully using Constantin Rehaag of Dentons, also a very tough litigator, with high experience in the field.” Constantin represented Germany at the 2022 EU-TAIWAN-JUDICIAL EXCHANGE-WORKSHOP, where he trained, together with judges from the Federal Court of Justice and the ECHR, judges from China.

  • Dentons Frankfurt IP&T partner Dr Constantin Rehaag, senior associate Anne-Kristin Puth, associate Adela Kujovic and associate Dr Carsten Goldstein were engaged by Groupe Lactis, following a recommendation, on trademark infringements by a former cooperation partner in Germany. Groupe Lactis is the largest dairy products company in the world with brands such as Président camembert cheese.
  • The opponent is involved in unfair claims to a longer market presence bolstered by allegations that he cooperated with the client. These allegations associate the client, unwillingly, with misleading market practices. The matter involves complex legal questions regarding the acquisition of rights by use.
  • Dentons Frankfurt IP&T partner Dr Constantin Rehaag advises Mobility Trader Holding GmbH / Mobility Trader GmbH, a mobility solutions joint venture between Volkswagen, Daimler and Allianz, on trademarks prosecution and litigation, and on business secrets.
  • The client is best known for fast-developing e-commerce platform heycar, a new and used cars sales platform. Heycar facilitates sales of several car brands including: Audi, BMW, Mercedes, Volkswagen, Skoda, Opel, Bentley etc. The platform covers cars offered by certified car dealerships, and financing solutions with captive banks. The cars are offered to customers with warranty, a novelty for online platforms for buying and selling cars platforms.
  • Dentons is advising on the registration of trademarks and domains and on the strategic expansion of the global trademark portfolio in collaboration with Dentons offices in France, the UK, Canada and the US. The firm is litigating on trademarks matters in France, Germany and Spain and represents the client in opposition proceedings at the European Union Intellectual Property Office (EUIPO). Dentons recently provided the client with an interim head of legal via a secondment.
