Team overview:

Partner and head of Dechert’s IP UK team Paul Kavanagh handles matters related to trademark, copyright and designs, as well as patents, with particular expertise in the luxury goods, retail, media and technology industries. His work highlights over the past year include matters for Vauxhall Motors, Mastercard, Sandals Resorts and Asprey.

Counsel Nathan Smith has a strong contentious and non-contentious practice, advising on issues such as global trademark clearance and the IP aspects of corporate transactions, as well as handling international IP litigation and arbitration.

Dylan Balbirnie, a senior associate at the firm, advises on brand clearance, trademark prosecution and disputes and the commercialisation of trademarks for a broad range of clients.
