Full-service law firm Snell & Wilmer has more than 500 attorneys across 16 locations in the US and Mexico. The firm takes a comprehensive approach to its patent services, offering everything from drafting and prosecution to litigation and inter partes review. Team overview:
In July 2024 the firm added former Knobbe Martens partner Jason Gersting to its Orange County IP practice. Gersting focuses his practice on managing IP portfolios within the life sciences, biotechnology and medtech sectors, and assists counsel from outside the US in securing US patent protection for their clients in these and other industries.
Grant Langton serves as chair of the IP group in Los Angeles and co-chair of the IP group in California. Langton has acted as de-facto chief patent counsel for several Fortune 500 companies and has over 25 years’ experience handling patent and trademark prosecution, licensing, and IP counseling.
Key matters:
- In November 2024, Snell & Wilmer advised Dassian, which provides SAP solutions for complex contract and project management, in its sale to Omegro. The firm said the acquisition was expected to assist Omegro expand its market presence and deepen its offering in the technology space. Tony Caldwell and Jordan Manley led the team advising Dassian throughout the deal, with IP counseling from Lee Fraley, Robert Clarke and Haley Breedlove.
- Snell & Wilmer advised IT security business Lumifi in its acquisition of Washington-based cybersecurity company Critical Insight. The team also advised Lumifi on the purchases of Castra and Netsurion, part of its portfolio expansion plan.
